A computer is a machine that manipulates data to a set of instructions.
Although examples of computers have existed through much of recorded of human history, the first electronic computers were developed in 1940-1945. These were the size of a large room and waste much power as several hundred modern personal computers.
Modern computers much faster than old computers and save many time. These computers are small enough to fit in a wristwatch and powered by a watch battery.
Modern computers are used for occupy a fraction of the space. Students are using Computer and Information Technology for existing and emerging jobs and careers in the application of information systems and technology to plan, analyze, design, maintain, construct, and manage.
The ability to store and execute lists of instructions called programs. These programs make computers extremely versatile, distinguishing them from calculators. Today computers ranging from a mobile phone to a super computer are all able to perform the same computational tasks, given enough time and storage capacity.
